Rocky Mountain Oracle Users Group (RMOUG, or “we”) believes in individuals' right to maintain data privacy. The following provides details about how RMOUG collects and uses your data.
How Do We Collect Your Data?
You directly provide RMOUG with most of the data we collect about you. We collect and process data when you:
- Register for an event.
- Voluntarily complete a survey or provide feedback through our website.
- Use or view our website. In this case, information is supplied via your browser’s cookies as well as data that you provide directly.
What Data Do We Collect and Store?
When you join RMOUG or register for an RMOUG event, you are added to the membership,p and RMOUG stores the following information:
- Required data: Name, Email Address
- Optional data: Company Name, Job Title, Phone Number, Mailing Address, Interest in Volunteering, Social Media handles
- RMOUG event data: we also collect and store information about the fee you paid (if any) and the date and name of the event.
Note: We do not store credit card information for payments you make through our website. We use Affinity Pay for secure, encrypted monetary transactions.
How Do We Use Your Data?
RMOUG uses your data per current data protection laws and this privacy policy. We collect your data so that we can:
- Email you about events for which you have registered.
- Email you about events or services in which we think you will be interested.
- Send you mail through the postal service about our events or services.
- Share your contact information with our sponsors, as explained in the “Marketing” section below.
Marketing and Event Sponsors
When you register for an RMOUG event, you give implicit permission for RMOUG to share your data with sponsors and event managers. This typically includes your contact information (name, email, company, etc.), event participation details, and interests to help them inform you about their products, services, and events.
Oracle Sponsored events also need to follow Oracle’s Privacy Policy notice that requires acceptance of this statement "By submitting this form, you agree to share your personal data with the sponsor, Oracle. To find out more about Oracle’s data sharing policy, please read "Privacy Policy" and "Terms of Use".
Logging In
Much of the information on the RMOUG website is available to the public and does not require a login. If you do log into your RMOUG online account, your login credentials are encrypted.
How Do We Use Cookies?
Cookies are text files placed on your computer to collect standard Internet log information and visitor behavior information. When you visit our website, we collect information from you automatically through cookies or similar technology. For further information, visit allaboutcookies.org.
RMOUG uses cookies to maintain your logged-in status and to pass information between its pages. It does not use cookies to track your web browser behavior or history. You can set your web browser to not accept cookies, but if you do that some of our website features may not function.
How to Manage Your Data
As a member, you can manage your data by updating your member profile, which is accessed by logging into the website and clicking your name in the top-right corner. After clicking "Edit profile," you can modify any personal data you have supplied us, remove non-required data, specify privacy options, and update your email subscription preferences.
As a member, you can also request any of the volunteer members of the Board of Trustees to make any changes to your data. Board contact information is available below and on the RMOUG website (About | Leadership menu option).
Links to Other Websites
The RMOUG website contains links to other websites, but our Privacy Policy applies only to our website. If you click a link to another website, the privacy policy of that website will be in effect.
