Abstract Submission 2017

Abstract Submission Deadline: October 2, 2016

RMOUG Training Days is hailed as the largest and best grassroots regional Oracle user group conference. The major reason for this is the high caliber of the presenters. The first day of the conference is a half-day of 30-minute tech tips and two-hour deep-dive presentations. There will be no additional fee to any attendee who has registered for the full conference pass. We are looking for some great presentations to headline this special offering to our attendees. The presentations for the second and third days of the conference will be one hour in length, as we’ve successfully had in the past.

We invite you to submit an abstract(s) on the following topics:

Application Express and Oracle Mobile Platform

Design or application development using Oracle Application Express (APEX) and all Oracle Mobile Platform. Topics include mobile applications and web applications developed in these two platforms.

Business Intelligence

Any design and/or development in any Business Intelligence environment, including data warehousing, multidimensional data models and other OLAP (Online Analytical Processing), and vendor suites requiring programming. Examples include Oracle Business Intelligence Extended Edition (OBIEE), Hyperion/EPM, Essbase, ODT, ETL/ELT, Oracle Warehouse Builder, etc.

Database Administration

Database administration concepts and techniques for database management systems, including Oracle, DB2, Sybase, Data Modeling, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and MySQL. Examples include SQL, PL/SQL, .Net, JDBC/Java, JEE, Oracle Fusion, JDeveloper, Eclipse, Visual Studio, Hibernate, Spring, Struts, TopLink, and industry-specific packages.

Agile techniques used in development have become synonymous with almost all IT environments today. As development embraces agile, operations and sysadmins are becoming programmers because of the virtualization and automation trend where everything is managed through an API.  Some call this phenomenon DevOps, others Agile system administration; either way, these are presentations of great interest to the RMOUG community.

Presentations focused around Big Data, NoSQL, Hadoop, Hive, Cassandra, Vertica, Greenplum, virtualization, VMware, cloning, and other new or emerging technical trends.

Concepts and management techniques for web servers, application servers, and portals. Examples include Java EE servers (e.g. JBoss, Tomcat, Oracle WebLogic, IBM WebSphere, etc.), IIS, Web Services, Service Oriented Architecture (SOA), ESBs, REST, Web Center, Application Integration, XML, and JSON.

Also included are applications from other companies running on Oracle technology, such as Banner, Remedy, etc.
