Call for Nominations for the RMOUG Board Of Directors 2014-2015
The Rocky Mountain Oracle Users Group continues to be the leading locally organized user group in the country. The success of RMOUG can be attributed to its members, the volunteers who support the activities of the users group, and the Board of Directors who provides direction for the users group.
The RMOUG bylaws require the regular election of the Board of Directors.
These bylaws (available online here) outline the makeup and duties of the Board of Directors:
- The range of the number of the Directors shall be an odd number between five and fifteen
- The management, control, and government of the Corporation (RMOUG) shall be vested in the Board of Directors
- The Board of Directors shall preserve, protect, and promote the interests of the Corporation and will be responsible for formulating the general policy of the Corporation in accordance with the expressions of the members

We are calling for campaign statements for candidates for the fiscal year starting 01-June 2014 and running through 31-May 2015.
To run for the Board of Directors, you must:
- Be able to participate in scheduled Board meetings (approximately 1 per month)
- Be a member of RMOUG in good standing
- Be willing and able to uphold the bylaws and policies of the organization
If you are interested in running for the Board of Directors, please prepare and submit a short campaign statement and biographical sketch. If you need some advice or help in this, please feel free to contact either Heidi Kuhn (executive director of RMOUG) or Tim Gorman (president of RMOUG). You should outline your reasons for running for the Board of Directors and your qualifications. If you are not a current member of the Board of Directors, you must list the event(s) or committee(s) on which you have participated and the name of a current Board member as a reference. Please limit your statement to approximately one page.
Campaign statements must be submitted no later than close of business on Wednesday, April 30, 2014 by email to the current RMOUG President at firstname.lastname@example.org. If you have any questions about the process or would like to see a sample statement, please email email@example.com.

Schedule Builder – All the papers and slide presentations that we have received are available through the schedule builder. You can use our online schedule builder to create your schedule before arriving at the conference. You are not obligated to attend the sessions you select, and you may change your selections at any time.
Internet - WiFi has been provided as part of your registration fee. Please go to your WiFi networks and click on RMOUG 2014.
Location of Registration and Meeting Space- The Training Days 2014 registration and information desk will be open in the Mile High Ballroom pre-function area from 11:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, 7:00 a.m. until 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, and 7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Session rooms are in the 500 hall as well as the Mile High Ballroom. Our keynote session, lunches, and reception will be held in the Mile High Ballroom.
Invite Your Manager – As a thank you to your manager for sending you to Training Days, please invite him/her to attend the Thursday afternoon sessions beginning at 1:15 p.m. and the Welcome Reception at 5 p.m. as our guest. Send your manager’s name, company, and e-mail address to firstname.lastname@example.org and we’ll send an invitation.
Exhibition – The Training Days 2014 vendor exhibition will be open from 10:45 a.m. until 6:30 p.m. on Thursday and 7:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. on Friday. It is located in the Exhibit Hall (Mile High Ballroom) across from the registration and information desk.

RAC Attack: A hands-on workshop that will give you the opportunity to set up Oracle 12c Real Application Cluster environment on your laptop, go through advanced RAC-related setup scenarios, or work together with other technical geeks on solving RAC-related challenges. Sponsored by OTN, RAC Attack takes place in the Exhibit Hall on Thursday and Friday.
Women in Technology: This panel discussion held on Thursday at 1:15pm is open to both men and women. This session will focus on how to increase interest in young women to enter technical careers, increase participation in user groups and conferences, as well as career advancement. There will be discussion about early technical education and how to overcome stereotypes to assist in retaining the great women already in the industry.
