Hi!  We have an opening for a Sr. Data Modeler with spatial data technology experience. This position will develop, document and maintain architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces and designs for software systems.  This is a leadership role as the prime technical contact on contracts and projects. 

 

Responsibilities include:

               Leads the development, documentation and maintenance of software architectures

               Develops Computer Software Component (CSC) software requirements and algorithms

               Creates overall integration plans.

               Provides subject matter expertise on resolution of regulatory and domain operational and integration issues.

               Supports issue resolution for specific software systems.

               Computer Software Component (CSC)

               Ensure best practices

               Participates in design reviews

               Mentor junior employees

               Provides technical leadership and project management - schedules, plans, estimates, prioritizes tasks, lead reviews, code walkthroughs

               Translate business needs into requirements, processes and tasks

               Leads integration/test efforts

 

Required skills and experience:

               Nine (9) or more years of experience developing and maintaining software applications with demonstrated proficiency.

               Expert in Relational Theory

               Deep understanding of Oracle Database optimization techniques using performant data models

               Understanding of schema optimization

               Experience using Java and J2EE technologies

               Experience with JBoss or Websphere Application Servers

               Thorough understanding of spatial data technologies including but not limited to: Spatial Data Modeling, Spatial data querying and Spatial data calculations.

               Understanding of Navigation Data (ARINC 424 artifacts)

               Bachelor degree in computer science or related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience

 

This is a full-time, salaried position as an employee of SES working on our own project team.  Salary plus full benefits including medical/dental/life insurance, paid vacation/sick/personal/holiday time, 401K, and overtime pay.
