Attention:  Deadline Friday 28-April 2017

The Rocky Mountain Oracle Users Group (RMOUG) continues to be the leading locally organized user group in the country.  The success of RMOUG can only be attributed to its members; the volunteers who support the activities of the users group, and the Board of Directors who provides direction for the users group.

It is time to begin the election process by opening the Call for Board Candidates for our next fiscal year.

The RMOUG Bylaws require the regular election of the Board of Directors. The Bylaws are available online at and outline the makeup and duties of the Board of Directors:

  • Directors must be current members.
  • The range of the number of the Directors shall be an odd number between five and fifteen.
  • The management, control, and government of the Corporation (RMOUG) shall be vested in the Board of Directors.
  • The Board of Directors shall preserve, protect, and promote the interests of the Corporation and will be responsible for formulating the general policy of the Corporation in accordance with the expressions of the members.

Note:  RMOUG’s current General Policies can be found online at

The Call for Board Candidates for the fiscal year starting 01-June 2017 and running through 31-May 2018 is officially open.

To run for the Board of Directors, you must:

  • Be a current member of RMOUG
  • Be able to participate in scheduled Board meetings (approximately 1 per month)
  • Be willing and able to uphold the bylaws and policies of the organization

Deadline Monday 03-April – Call For Articles for the Spring newsletter

There are only a few Oracle users groups in North America still publishing a newsletter. The Rocky Mountain Oracle Users Group (RMOUG) and the Northern California Oracle Users Group (NoCOUG) are likely the only ones still publishing a printed hard-copy along with online versions. Every other Oracle users groups has ceased, or is publishing online only.

Please consider publishing a technical article in the Spring 2017 issue of the RMOUG newsletter “SQL>Update_RMOUG“?  Online copies are found at ““.

Deadline for submissions is Monday 03-April, just two weeks away!

If interested, please contact the RMOUG newsletter editor via email at “” as soon as possible!

If you have an idea but need help fleshing it out, we’re glad to help, too!

How good was Training Days 2017?

Everyone enjoys feedback.  Especially positive feedback, but negative feedback is helpful too.

During the Training Days conferences, we are constantly seeking immediate feedback about individual sessions.  Thanks to everybody for filling out those pesky yellow session evaluation forms!  You’ll be glad to know that the responses have already been summarized and emailed to the presenters, and (good or bad) this feedback is very valuable to them.  Huge thanks and kudos to TeamYCC for getting this done so quickly!

After the Training Days conferences, we also email a survey to all attendees, vendors, sponsors, and speakers seeking feedback about the conference as well.  What worked?  What didn’t work?  What should be improved?  What do you want to see next year?  All of this is extremely valuable in our planning for future conferences, and thank you again for your valuable feedback!

But what is really special is unsolicited feedback in the form of blog posts and videos from speakers and attendees!  Here are a few to share…

In addition, Connor published a video announcing his keynote at Training Days 2017 back in January, prior to the conference, which is definitely worth sharing and enjoying here too…

Having completed its 28th consecutive year, the RMOUG Training Days 2017 conference proved to have amazing content, rivaling or exceeding that of any other conference anywhere in the world.

Thanks so much again to the generosity and sheer enthusiasm of our speakers, to the generosity and dedication of our volunteers, the thoroughness and professionalism of TeamYCC, and above to the support and love from the members of RMOUG.

Watch this space for upcoming announcements about the date and location of the Training Days 2018 conference!
