RMOUG Minutes 5-16-2008

A regular meeting of the Board of Directors of the above corporation was held on May 16, 2008

I.  QUORUM.  A quorum was declared present based on the presence of the following Directors:

Bill Schwartzkopf
Peggy King
Linda Seley
Ron Bich
John Peterson

The following corporate actions were taken by appropriate motions duly made, seconded, and adopted by the majority vote of the Directors entitled to vote (unless a higher voting approval is stated).

A.  Report by Bill Schwartzkopf.
Bill Schwartzkopf reported that we need to change the next Board of Directors Meeting in June since Peggy will be out of town and Bill will be unavailable.  We will hold the meeting on June 26th at Peggy’s home.

B.  Report by Peggy King.
Peggy King reported Oracle would like RMOUG to co-locate our August Workshop with their Fusion Middleware day.  Since their date changed to July since that is when Tom Kyte is available, RMOUG would like to still do an August Meeting.

November is another possible conflict for with an Oracle Tech day.  If we have room for our own sessions, or possibly for a ½ day, it might work.  Otherwise, we would like to hold the RMOUG workshop separately.

There are currently about 12 people signed up for the May 23rd SIG Meeting on Colorado Springs.

For the Educational Workshop today, RMOUG will be sponsoring lunch.  For the next meeting, we would like to hold it at Oracle, Regis, or Metro.  Heidi will check into finding a location.

Peggy would like the program director to build a relationship with local speakers.  There were over 100 speakers at Training Days, about 50 of those are local.  Workshops are a good place to try out new material.  We can also solicit other groups like Stellant, Hyperion, OAUG, ODTUG, and Fusion.  We should contact Jane with Oracle to see if she wants us to go through her or someone else.

Our next SIG meeting should be held up North.

III.  NEXT MEETING.  The next meeting of the Board of Directors will be held June 26th at Peggy’s home.

There being no further business, the meeting was duly adjourned.
