Are You Ready to Shoot For The Cloud? Joe Malewicki, iArch Solutions Thu, Nov 1, 2018 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM MDT Migrating to cloud may seem like an overwhelming task, but if you want to stay with your current on-premise software you can still take the first step towards the cloud with an Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) solution. With this option it's like you are getting a new stadium to compete in but you're keeping the same high performing team. We will discuss the different cloud offerings and if upgrading your software in the process can also benefit your team now or in the long run. We will discuss just how cost effective an on-premise upgrade can actually be. The cost and time savings alone might make you head back to the office and start planning the upgrade project today. If you're ready to fully Shoot For The Cloud and migrate off of your on-premise software to the latest and newest, then a Software as a Service (SaaS) solution is for you. You can get the cutting edge products with no hardware costs involved. We'll go over both options during this presentation and also look at a hybrid approach of starting with IaaS and then moving to SaaS as you bring on new technologies or sunset existing legacy systems. So please join us for this educational and informative session and let’s get you up to where you should be today! And remember – someone’s “cloud” is just someone else’s “computer.”

Baha Mar's All in Bet on Red: The Story of Integrating Data and Master Data Tue, Nov 6, 2018 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM MST Baha Mar is the Bahamas' newest luxury resort, featuring world class hotels, restaurants, shopping, spas, a golf course, and a casino. Baha Mar has gone all in, betting big on red by adopting a Planning and Budget Cloud Service (PBCS), a Financial Close and Consolidation Cloud Service (FCCS), and an Account Reconciliation Cloud Service (ARCS). Within PBCS, Baha Mar has implemented daily operational reporting (DOR), which captures daily activity across the entire property. In this session, we will explore how, and more importantly, why FDMEE (on-premises) was used in favor of cloud data management. We will cover the myriad of disparate and highly specialized data sources needed to support loading detailed operational data on a daily basis. We will study the various methodologies used to streamline data integration and enrich the data load cycle. Additionally, we will discuss how EDMCS and cloud data management were leveraged to reduce duplicate master data maintenance while sharing key findings about this exciting new cloud service. Did Baha Mar win big? Attend this webinar to find out!

Taking Advantage of the Cloud for Modernizing Your Data Warehouse Wednesday, November 7, 2018 - 10:00am MST The combination of a cost-effective approach to utility/service computing with the ability to provide scalable storage platforms for the acquisition and ingestion of growing data volumes is motivating many organizations to “modernize” their data warehouses by migrating them to the cloud. However, there are limitations to the benefits that can be derived by replicating the same data warehouse architecture on a cloud-based server cluster. When the data warehouse is not designed to exploit key features of the cloud environment and cloud-based services, the system will still be inhibited in terms of scalability and performance yet will continue to demand staff resources for maintenance, management, and optimization.
